Acupressure is derived from Traditional Chinese Medicine. This states that when something is wrong, the cause of it should be identified and treatment aimed at encouraging self healing and correction rather than just the application of synthetic drugs to resolve symptoms.
Acupressure is the ‘no needles’ version of acupuncture which works on exactly the same principles. It is a comfortable and effective treatment during which pressure is applied using the hands and fingers to specific points on the body. Energy should flow freely within the body via channels called ‘meridians’. Acupressure identifies and treats any blockages or imbalances occurring along a meridian and enables the body to reach homeostasis.
