Co-Enzyme Q10 for fertility
So just a quickie on this magical little pill of wonder, so that you can identify whether Co-Enzyme Q10 is something that might help you. It is a substance that is already present in every cell in our bodies. Research has shown several things about this component that are useful to understand for fertility. Number one thing is that women who have suffered recurrent miscarriage have been shown to have low levels of co-enzyme Q10, and secondly, in other studies it is shown to improve blood flow. It is therefore a great thing to try if you feel you have had issues with implantation. Zita West actually recommends that all women having IVF or ICSI take it to assist with implantation.
Co-Enzyme Q10 is widely available, even in supermarkets and there are no side effects or risks to taking it. Weirdly. vegetarians have been shown to have higher levels of it than meat eaters, and considering a fertility friendly diet recommends reducing red meat you wonder what the connection is there. It is not something they have yet identified as being in particular foods, so supplementation is really the only way. There is no recommended amount – but the standard dose advised is 30mg per day.
Worth a punt I reckon!
